MUFON Executive Director
Jan recently retired from IBM after 37 years in the Information Technology business. Jan’s interest in UFOs began at the age of 8 when he read an article on Donald Keyhoe and NICAP in Argosy magazine. Based on this and other research he and his brother did over the next two years, they made the decision to build a flying saucer believing that electromagnetic propulsion was the key to how these craft were able to travel such great distances. While in the process of doing this, they were visited by a real UFO, no more than 30 feet from them, with no visible means of propulsion other than making a humming noise, before shooting off over the horizon. This event profoundly changed their lives. As a result of this experience, Jan pursued finding the answer to the technology these craft display believing that a breakthrough would revolutionize transportation and energy on our planet. As part of his drive to find the answer, Jan attended UCLA School of Engineering and received his B.S. in Nuclear Engineering. After college, he was hired by IBM, thinking that only a company of IBM’s stature and funding in basic research could solve this problem. Thirty-seven years later, Jan is still looking for the answer to how all this works. As a member of the MUFON Business Board Jan has been instrumental in leading MUFON’s Strategic Planning, as well as creating the Case Management System (CMS) used for UFO reporting, tracking, and investigative follow-up. Jan currently resides in Newport Beach, California, with his wife, Annette, and their two children. Jan was named Executive Director of MUFON on August 1, 2013.
UFO Historian, Author
Richard Dolan is one of the world’s leading researchers and writers on the subject of UFOs, and believes that they constitute the greatest mystery of our time.
He is the author of two volumes of history, UFOs and the National Security State, both ground-breaking works which together provide the most factually complete and accessible narrative of the UFO subject available anywhere. He also co-authored a speculative book about the future, A.D. After Disclosure, the first-ever analysis not only of how UFO secrecy might end, but of the all-important question: what happens next?
Richard’s latest work, UFOs for the 21st Century Mind, provides a fresh treatment of the entire subject. In it, he discusses the important sightings, the encounters, the politics, the cover-up, ancient aliens, the bizarre science, disclosure, and offers advice on being both critical and open-minded in today’s world. Like his previous three books, it asks fresh questions and offers new insights to further our understanding of the UFO mystery.
Richard hosts a weekly radio show, The Richard Dolan Show, on KGRA radio, is a frequent guest on Coast-to-Coast AM. He is currently featured on several television series and documentaries, including "Ancient Aliens," "Hangar One: The UFO Files" and "Close Encounters."
Prior to his interest in UFOs, Richard completed his graduate work at the University of Rochester, where he studied U.S. Cold War strategy, European history, and international diplomacy. Before that, he had studied at Alfred University and Oxford University, and had been a finalist for a Rhodes scholarship.
But for the past two decades, Richard has been a dedicated student of all things related to UFOs, steadily expanding his interests within that topic from his initial focus on government documents and the cover-up. Now his interests include it all, from the deepest aspects of the cover-up, to contact and abduction, the science behind the phenomenon, how the phenomenon has affected world culture, his theory of a breakaway civilization, the possible relationship of artificial intelligence and biotechnology to the UFO phenomenon, and the implications of the end of secrecy, that is, the world After Disclosure.
Today, there is no aspect of the phenomenon Richard won’t study. He continues to look forward to exploring this topic in all its depth, a topic he believes opens our doors of perception, challenging us to see the world differently and more clearly.
In addition to his research, Richard’s company, Richard Dolan Press, actively publishes innovative books by authors from around the world. His website is richarddolanpress.com

UFO Writer, AOL-Huffington Post
Lee Speigel has been interested in the idea of UFOs, aliens, living dinosaurs and the whole range of topics that often overlap the worlds of science and unexplained phenomena since he was a young boy.
His first foray into the pursuit and investigation of these topics was in 1975 when he produced and wrote a documentary record album, “UFOs: The Credibility Factor,” for CBS Inc. It marked the first time that military and scientific voices came together to disclose their personal UFO encounters and to call for government recognition of the phenomenon.
In 1978, in another early attempt at UFO disclosure, but this time on a world stage, Speigel became the only person in history to produce a major presentation on UFOs at the United Nations. Under the sponsorship of Grenada, he brought together leading military and scientific experts who urged world leaders to establish an international UFO study panel.
Between 1978 and 1986, Speigel produced, wrote and hosted NBC Radio’s “UFO Reports,” “Unexplained Phenomena” and “The Edge of Reality” (nearly 1,500 local and national programs, spanning eight years.)
The year 1978 was also important as Speigel became one of the first media personalities – through his NBC Radio features — to bring public awareness of the now-legendary 1947 Roswell, NM, UFO crash; through the efforts of nuclear physicist Stanton Friedman, Speigel produced a week-long series of radio reports that featured exclusive interviews with military personnel who were directly involved with the initial Roswell cover-up.
Within the same time period as his NBC experience, Speigel was also a feature writer for OMNI magazine, including several cover stories about UFOs and cryptozoology.
In 1993, he produced and wrote “Lincoln’s Music In America: The Classics In Space,” a national award-winning classical music special focusing on the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. Broadcast over the Concert Music Network, the show was co-hosted by Dr. Frank Drake, founder of the SETI Institute, and is in the permanent collection of the Paley Center for Media in New York City.
Between 2007 and 2009, while on staff at ABCNews.com, Speigel wrote feature stories about the Roswell, NM, UFO legend, looking for life in meteorites and the controversial practice of firewalking.
Since 2010, Speigel has written hundreds of stories covering unexplained phenomena and UFOs for the AOL-Huffington Post Media Group in New York.

MUFON New Jersey State Director
George Filer is a retire Air Force intelligence officer. While serving in the Air Force, Filer was onboard an aircraft tanker over the UK when he and his crew were asked to check out a UFO on radar. When they got close to the large object it flew off at extraordinary speed. Later, while serving at Ft. Dix he was asked to brief Generals on an incident involving the shooting of an alien that had landed it’s craft on their runway. He is now a MUFON regional director an produces a weekly UFO newsletter called Filer’s Files.
Carl Feindt has been fascinated by aviation since the late days of WWII. Starting with carved balsa replicas and later by flying models of aircraft, he followed his passion into service as a cadet in the Civil Air Patrol. After high school, he studied aircraft engineering at the Academy of Aeronautics (off LaGuardia Airport’s runway) in New York City. Following two years with the Air Force, a family hardship forced him to return to civilian life where he joined a major airline for which he worked in customer service for 34 years.
Upon retirement, he was interested in becoming active in Ufology, about which he had been reading since the early 60’s. The opportunity came when Jan Aldrich, a UFO researcher, asked for volunteers to do local newspaper searches. Over the course of eight years, he studied microfilm rolls at the University of Delaware, exhaustively covering the years between 1923 and 1967, and found approximately 750 UFO-related articles – this from the second smallest state in the union.
Intrigued by the fact that aircraft cannot emerge from or submerge into water, he started assembling water-related UFO cases which have grown into a data base of this aspect of the UFO mystery.
