UFOS Over Texas
CURRENT TEXAS UFO CASE
CB alerts Texas trucker to multiple hovering UFOs ABOUT UFOs OVER TEXAS Why is Texas one of the top states regarding witness reports and UFO traffic in the country? MUFON researchers open case files that will prove that everything really is, bigger in Texas, including mass sightings! Below are first hand summaries from Robert Powell, Director of Research at MUFON since 2007 and head of MUFON’s Science Review Board, Field Investigator, Star Team Member and one of the individuals that has personally worked the cases displayed on this week’s episode. Stephenville is one of the most intriguing UFO cases in recent times. On January 8, 2008, 25 different witnesses at a dozen different locations and at different times, saw lights perform maneuvers that cannot be explained by conventional aircraft and based on our understanding of physics. Witnesses included a chief of police, a pilot, a constable, a former air traffic controller, business people, and radar data that support their claims. What happened that night between 6 to 9:39 p.m. is still a mystery. Levelland, Texas. Just before 11 p.m. on November 2, 1957, the phone rang in the sheriff's office. On the line were two truck drivers, who reported that their truck had been stopped by the overflight of a rocket-shaped light emitting a great amount of heat. It was 200 feet long. An hour later, the phone rang again. A different driver reported a similar occurrence. A blazingly bright sort of egg-shaped object was sitting on the road ahead, when the engine and lights of the car failed. A few minutes later another caller. Similarly an egg-shaped object was circling and the cars motor died. And in another few minutes; another report; another egg-shaped object stopping a car. In early September of 1951 the citizens of Lubbock, Texas, were reporting greenish-white, glowing objects flitting about in their skies. This event piqued the interest of the U.S. Air Force when four Texas Tech college professors saw the objects just after they were seen by an employee of the Sandia base in New Mexico. Several days later a photographer obtained photos of the object. Air Force communications with the professors then began in earnest. Cast Q and A: Richard Dolan Q: How did you get interested in the subject of UFOs? A: I became interested in the subject of UFOs over 20 years ago when working on a doctoral dissertation in U.S. Cold War history. At the time, I was researching Harry Truman and U.S, strategy against the Russians when I stumbled into the subject while at a bookstore. I saw a UFO conspiracy book sitting on a display case titled, Above Top Secret: The Worldwide UFO Cover-Up. Like many people, I had wondered from time to time if there was anything to the UFO subject. The fact that I was already studying the 1940s and 1950s in some detail helped me to become interested in UFO history. I quickly learned that there was indeed a significant history to the subject. I began to wonder why it was not being covered in standard academic history books. That is what got me started. This is a subject that, once it gets your attention, can easily keep you involved for life. Q: Is there any particular aspect of ufology that most interests you? A: I am interested in all aspects of the UFO subject. Certainly the incredible science involved, from propulsion to space travel to consciousness and beyond. Also, the phenomenon of abduction and what is going on there. Without a doubt, I am also interested in to what extent our classified world has created "UFO technology." However, I remain most engaged by the political implications of UFOs. What does it mean, for instance, that this most fascinating of subjects, one which has obvious ramifications for national security, has received no official recognition? Not simply from our political leaders, but the academic community as well? The discrepancy between our collective eyes and our voice is striking and disturbing. People are seeing these things every single day, yet official recognition never comes. As a result, we have become a society that has learned to lie to itself in a very profound way. Q: Do you feel that Hangar 1, now in its second season, will be a positive force in gaining public awareness to the Mutual UFO Network and broadening the public’s view of UFOs? A: I think that Hangar 1 can be a show that has a positive impact on public awareness of UFOs, providing that it maintains a commitment to integrity and unflinching truth at all times. UFOs are difficult to study, a true mystery. The phenomenon also happens to have serious political implications. The problem with most television shows, naturally, is that they shy away from serious political commentary and implications. I would like to see Hangar 1 continue to push those boundaries. I do not think the world needs any more shallow treatments of the subject--there is already too much of that. It's time to delve into some difficult questions that actually cause people to wonder not only about the UFO phenomenon, but the system of secrecy that has enveloped it since the 1940s. By doing this, the show can make a true difference. Q: You are the author of UFOs and the National Security State, A.D. After Disclosure and most recently UFOs for the 21st Century Mind. Are there any upcoming projects on the desk of Dolan? A: I have written several books on the subject of UFOs. I am currently working on two book projects. One of them is the third volume of my historical trilogy, UFOs and the National Security State. That book will take the UFO story from 1992 to the present day. It's a lot of work but I am looking forward to seeing it out there. The other book project is not about UFOs, but does deal with important government clandestine activities that people need to know about. I am working on it right now, and have hopes that it will make a splash this year. |
